Due to a change of policy at Camp Fortune, we have relocated our socials to the more spacious facilities at the Chelsea Community Centre which is located on the main road of Chelsea beside the church/cemetery. There is parking at the centre and across the street from the church.

One of the many advantages to holding our events at this location is that each family is able to bring their own drinks rather than having to buy them from the bar at Camp Fortune. (We have a license for alcohol but are not allowed to sell it.) Drinks are available for purchase at the Chelsea dépanneur which is conveniently located next door (or bring them from home but they may freeze in your car?). Please bring drinks for all members of your family. We will be providing some munchie snacks.

This event will be an opportunity to:

. welcome new members to the club
. reconnect with returning members
. meet program chairs and coaches
. purchase OSC clothing items (a limited amount will be available for sale)
. order a nametag if yours has gone missing or you are a new member

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. If you know of any new families who may not be on our distribution list, please pass this invitation on to them. Friends and families who may be interested in joining our club are also welcome.

We are responsible for set-up and clean-up so any offers of assistance are greatly appreciated.

K1 Pre-season camp at Smuggler’ Notch

Nine K1’s enjoyed a great training opportunity this past weekend at Smuggler’s Notch, Vermont. Led by Head Coach Bettina Callary our racers trained for three days. In attendance was Emily Fowler, Charles and Philip Kijek, Chris Steinke, Kelly Denison, Peter Kotzeff, Chris Oakes, Sebastien Engelmann and Alec Wright.

Thanks to Bettina for all her hard work. Racers and parents had a wonderful time.

GMC WAX DAY

COME HAVE YOUR SKIS TUNED UP FOR THE SEASON!!

For a small donation to the Ottawa Ski Club, local amateur alpine ski racers will wax your skis and snowboards. Value $25.00.

Please let your friends and neighbours know about the Wax Day. See attached flyer for details.

If you’ve never waxed skis before……..this is a great chance to learn how! High School students can earn Volunteer Hours if they help at this event (bring the form).

A-Channel

The OSC Wax Day will be featured on the morning show on the A-Channel on Thursday, November 17th. Look for our athletes at 8:40 a.m…..Channel 6 in Ottawa.

Pontiac World of Skiing

The television show Pontiac World of Skiing will be taping our Wax Day for an upcoming episode.
